Beeston

Beeston is an area of inner-city south Leeds, West Yorkshire, England. It is a mixed area, with - unusually for south Leeds - a sizable south Asian population. Most of the housing is nineteenth-century, varying from small trditional back-to-back terraces to larger terraces and semi-detached houses.

Beeston itself has two distinct areas - Beeston Hill and Beeston Village/Beeston Park. Beeston probably has the best facilities of any area in Leeds. It has two large health centres, the White Rose shopping centre on its doorstep, Elland Road stadium, South Leeds Sports Centre which includes the indoor bowling, indoor Tennis Centre, athletics stadium, rugby pitches and five a side pitches and a full size swimming pool (due early 2007). The city centre of Leeds is only a short bus ride away and the M1 and M62 are easily accessed.

Being so close to Leeds City Centre and much investment being poured into the area, house prices are already rapidly increasing. It is also a very popular area for young proffesionals and students to rent, with large victorian properties, sizable, spacious rooms, good value rent and just a 10 minute bus ride to the City.
